Well it's been an eventful month or two. Christmas was interesting with just Gabe and myself. In all the years we've dated, we never actually spent Christmas together. We were always with our own families and got together again after the holidays were over. So, not only were we together on Christmas for the first time, we were also by ourselves with no family. A bit odd for both of us, but we still had a nice day. Mom and I had decorated the house when she was here so it looked Christmas-ish. And you know what suckers we Ramseys are for Christmas music :)
Gabe and I both worked over the holidays. We didn't see any real reason to take off since there wasn't much going on anywhere. The day after Christmas we had our neighbors over for drinks and that went even better than planned. We really hit it off with them and we've all gone out to dinner and just basically visited a bit since then. Gabe was over at their place yesterday because Angela's car wouldn't run. My handy husband had it going again in about an hour.
Just after MLK Day Gabe started his classes. He's still working about 20 hrs a week at Subway while he's enrolled in an English and a math class. The classes are through the University of Mayland University College (UMUC) and they're done on a compressed 9-week schedule. Gabe has the classes back-to-back on Monday and Wednesday night and he's there from 5-10:45pm. He's enjoying them and doing well so far, with a 96 on his first math test.
I'm in a German class that started on the 18th of January and meets Monday and Wednesday nights as well. That's going well so far but I really need to put some more study hours into it.
For those that don't know, I was in the States from the 16-22 for my grandmother's funeral. She passed away on 15 Jan. and I flew to Atlanta on the 16th. On the 18th the four of us (Dad, Mom, Erin, and myself) drove to New Jersey. The services were on Thursday and Friday and then we drove back on Saturday (15hrs). I flew back on Sunday. I really didn't call anyone b/c there wasn't time to talk and not much to discuss. Grandma's with her Jimmy now and that's where she's been waiting to go. As mom said, they're dancing together again.
On a lighter note, I've got some pictures for your viewing pleasure. The first few are to make the SouthDiv crew a little jealous. Then there's one whose true meaning is really only known to two other people. Then there are a few of the countryside and other various things. Enjoy!
This is a view of my office from the door. Yes, I have a door AND a window!
This is a view from inside my office. Yes, people. I do have a plant. No, it's not dead yet.
Skipper, only you and Todd will appreciate this one. It's the model name of my coffeemaker!

You should make greetings cards out of your back yard. Just a thought :)
Meg,
I really like those windmills, and I took distinct pleasure in the pictures of your office, since yesterday my entire team at work moved into eight brand spanking new cubicles. Though I don't have a plant.
Love,
Dad
Sorry to hear about your Grandma. I really appreciated what you wrote about her dancing with her Jimmy.
The Scottish Country Dancers of Charleston are having a 1st annual Robert Burn's Supper. It should good for a laugh.
We all miss you and Gabe and the animals. God bless, Caroline
Sounds like things are going really well in Germany, hope you're enjoying it there!
